Pete & Kathy Walrod dispersed their Many Maples Brown Swiss herd at the farm near Georgetown, New York on May 7. A tent-capacity crowd was on hand to appreciate the quality offering. The herd featured good uddered cows showing evidence of a successful breeding program combined with a sound foundation and dedicated every day herd care.

Top of the day was a herd favorite - Many Maples Lil Bit. Scored "VG87/90MS" at 2yrs., this Brookings daughter commanded early interest and active bidding. She was taken at $9,000. by Ken Main & Peter Vail for their Elite Dairy, Copake, New York.

The second high seller at $6,000 was Many Maples Linda, a very promising milking two year old Cadence daughter, now the property of Karch Manley, Hamilton, New York.

Next in line was one of three "Ex" foundation animals purchased by Scarlet-Summer Holsteins & Brown Swiss, Jarrod & Madison Burleigh, Muncy, Pennsylvania. The high seller of this group at $5,400 was a 6th generation "Ex" Vigor due in July to Carter. Another in their group - an "Ex92" TD at $4,100.

The Many Maples Dispersal was managed by Hosking Sales, Tom & Brenda Hosking, New Berlin, NY with Tom as the auctioneer and Brenda providing clerking. Wayne Sliker was the pedigree man with Larry Hill and Denny Ferguson taking bids from an active crowd including the group from Quebec pictured with The Walrods. This group from north of the border were great supporters and are taking 12 quality Swiss home.
