A brisk fall day at Cobleskill, New York Fairgrounds provided the setting for another successful sale in this long running series. 63 head of cows, bred and open heifers averaged $2545. A small group of project calves averaged $765.

The sale topper at $6900 was Top Acres Garbro Winner ET, a "VG86/2y" Wonderment from the Whizzbang family fresh with her second calf and milking100 lbs. Promising a higher score, she was consigned by Dublin Hills and Jonathan Hubbard, Woodsboro, Maryland with Hubbard placing the final bid and becoming sole owner.

Second high price of $6000 was reached by Cutting Edge JP Sorbet ET, a March 2015 Jet Pilot from 10 generations of "Ex's" from the Snowstorm family. She was consigned by Elite Dairy, Copake, New York and now joins the Allard's Farm herd in Hadley, Massachusetts.

The sale was well attended with several new faces in the crowd as well on hand the evening before to enjoy the complimentary dinner. The McCormick Co. sponsored evening activities at the fairgrounds as well as awards to the consignors of the high seller.

A sizeable semen and embryo inventory also sold along with some show equipment with the proceeds donated to benefit Junior Members from the New York and New England Breeders' Associations.

The Eastern Breeders' Sale was again managed by Modern Associates of St. Paris, Ohio with Wayne Sliker handling pedigree announcements. David Bush was the man with the gavel assisted in the ring by Richard Stephens, Dale Bendig and Gordon DeMay. Connie Sliker, Ginny Sliker and Kathy DeMay served as the clerks for the day. New York and New England Junior Members capably presented the cattle in the ring. The lineup was prepared in excellent condition by Jason Thomas, Dale Bendig, Brian Sparling, Andrew Lenhart, Evan Creek and Justin Kaufman.
