It was back to Cobleskill again! A pleasant fall day at the Cobleskill, New York Fairgrounds was enjoyed by a large crowd on hand for the 2013 Edition of this successful sale series. A final average of $2,552. was tallied for the 72 lots sold. An additional 9 project calves averaged $1,070. mostly for youth projects.

Topping the high sellers list, Cutting Edge Wonder Rave ET sold for $9,000 to Richard Love, Scottdale, PA. This exceptional June 2013 Wonderment calf is from Nor Bella Jetway River ET “3E”, a 3 time All American Nominee with records to over 31,000m. Her consignors included Ken Main, Peter Vail and Hillpoint Partners from Copake, NY and Cross Plains, WI.

Next in line was an October 2012 Total from Cutting Edge PT Special “2E91”. Backed by 4 generations of show winning “EX” dams, this heifer was one from the high quality group consigned by Elite Genetics. She brought $7,500. from Robert Gould, Hadley, MA. Gould partnered with Seabreeze Ltd. to purchase another Cutting Edge heifer at $5,500.—this one an October 2012 Bonanza from Old Mill Snicker Time “E92”, a full sister to Supreme and daughter of the famed Snickerdoodle.

Ron Szegda of Columbia, CT added some choice purchases to his high caliber Brown Swiss group including a special Bonanza two year old that was a crowd favorite selling for $5,500. Her consignor was Cole Keyser, Esperence, NY. Mr. Szegda also purchased a September 2012 Parker daughter from the prolific brood cow, Random Luck Phoebe “2E93” for $5,100. from Hylight Farms, LLC, Adams, NY.

A sizeable semen and embryo inventory also sold as well as show equipment with part of the proceeds donated to benefit the Junior Members from the New York and New England Breeders.

The Eastern Breeders Sale was managed by Modern Associates of St. Paris, OH with Wayne Sliker handling the pedigree announcements. David Bush was the man with the gavel assisted in the ring by Gordon DeMay and Richard Stephens. Connie Sliker, Ginny Sliker and Kathy De May served as clerks for the day. New York and New England Junior Members presented cattle in the ring. Cattle preparation was accomplished by Dale Bendig, Justin Kaufman, Ashley Stoltzfus, Joe Nash, Brian Sparling, and Colleen Hackett.
