Splash in the Ocean at Sunset Canyon
The Splash was a very successful
and enjoyable event.
We were pleased to be part of it along with
a small section of Quality Brown Swiss.
The 7 head averaged $6486.
The hosts, sales managers, sale personnel and all
others involved made for a special sale.
Thanks for the memories!

Prior to the Splash in the Ocean at Sunset Canyon, I very much enjoyed a quick trip to the Northwest and took advantage of the opportunity to visit herds and friends in the area.

****First stop - Chocolate Swiss, Randy and Kim Mower, Sedro Woolley, WA.
The Mowers have successfully used a number of Top Acres bulls going back 30 years. They have a top uddered herd viewed pasturing in their beautiful Skagit Valley setting. We will have some udder pics on a few 2yr.olds at a later date.

****Next across the border to Abbotsford, B.C.
and an eye opening tour of Bradner Farms,
Rob and Pat Donaldson, Golden Gate Farms, Martin Yoder & Sarah Yoder, Bradner R Farm, Rob Donaldson.
The tours of facilities and operations on both sides of the mountains are "a must do" for anyone that visits this amazing part of the world. The growing number of Brown Swiss in these herds is impressive and very much an asset to The Breed.

****A Brown Swiss trip to this area would not be
complete without getting a walk through Jo-Dee Swiss, Tillamook, OR. Jodi Coppini, Cathy Coppini, and
Kenny & Kylie Coppini were on hand for their Open House the afternoon before The Splash Sale in the area.
The cattle are every bit as impressive as expected and then some - featuring past, current and future Alll-Americans. All in all it was a quick and fun tour with wonderful scenery, great cattle and even greater people. Many thanks for the Hospitality!!
